I started painting in 1998 to help take my mind off my pain. It works! And I love it. I work mainly in watercolour and pastels and enjoy painting birds, animals, flowers, landscapes and seascapes.
Over ten years ago I started art classes with watercolour tutor Liz Allen in Alloa who taught me a great deal. For 3 years I attended night classes with art tutor Greer Ralston at Clackmannan College and also did a three 10 week course with art tutor Madeleine Cosgrove in Stirling.
As a member of Central Arts Association since 2004 I have exhibited in all of their exhibitions staged in a variety of venues including Culross Palace, Episcopal Church Hall Bridge of Allan, Fat Bob’s in Kincardine, The Elgin Hotel in Charlestown and for the past 14 years in their ”Ongoing” Charity exhibition in Blossoms Coffee Shop/bistro at Torwood Garden Centre in Larbert in aid of Strathcarron Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support Scotland.
Also, for the past 22 years I have exhibited in ”The Gallery” at G R MacFarlane, Watchmaker, Jewelers & Art Gallery, 41 Mill Street, Alloa and for a number of years exhibited in Resonate in Alloa.
